Cataloguing Standards for Multiple, Diverse Collections

Using TMS to Plan an Exhibition

Jeri Moxley (The Guggenheim Museum) and Eliza Sparacino (The Museum of Modern Art) will demonstrate how to use TMS to plan and manage exhibitions. Learn how to define exhibition themes and sections, create curatorial checklists and loan forms, track loan status, and handle venue and shipping arrangements.

Customizing the Conservation Module

Chrisy Ledakis (The Brooklyn Museum) will demonstrate how to enter conservation reports and treatments and will also show how to document and manage light level histories, mount instructions, and conservation images.

eMuseum

Christina DePaolo (Seattle Art Museum) will share her institution’s experience and success in using eMuseum to seamlessly create a dynamic, searchable virtual tour of their collection. Learn how to incorporate lengthy text, additional images, and audio and video into TMS in order to present it to the public via eMuseum and get an overview of how to use the "My Collections" component of eMuseum.

Deploying TMS at a Small/Medium Size Museum

Join Deirdre Scott, Director of Technology at the Studio Museum in Harlem to explore some of the challenges that arise when introducing advanced tools into organizations with limited staff and resources. She will offer tips and techniques to help ready systems and staff to embrace the new as well as integrated planning techniques. She will also share the journey toward readying SMH for the Web to grow and deepen audience participation.

Strategies for TMS User Adoption

Chad Petrovay (The Walters Art Museum) and Jeri Moxley (The Guggenheim Museum) will discuss how to customize screens and reports, educate colleagues, and successfully promote a new TMS collection management system.
