The Museum SystemTM Achieves Top Rating
News release: November 28, 2003
New York, NY November 28, 2003 The Museum
System has scored the highest overall rating
among its competitors through the Canadian Heritage
Information Networks (CHIN) Collection
Management Software Review.
The CHIN Review is an important tool used by
many North American museums for selecting the
right collection management software for their
institution. The Collection Management Software
Review is available through CHINs
Web site.
CHINs committee of museum and technical
professionals reviewed 17 collection management
software products in its most recent evaluation.
Each system vendor provided written responses
to a set of over 500 functional criteria developed
by CHIN and the heritage community, including
cataloguing, data entry, incoming and outgoing
loans, and shipping. The review included a comprehensive
evaluation, where each vendor demonstrated how
their product performed to 170 functional criteria,
as selected by CHIN; each vendor received the
identical set of criteria. The Museum System
scored at the top of most categories, as well
as highest overall.
The Museum System is fast becoming the software
