Description
Are you a new staff member who needs TMS training or an existing team member who could use a review of basic TMS features? Let the expert trainers at Gallery Systems handle your TMS onboarding and refresher training on TMS Tuesday.

Every other month, our trainers lead a day-long, remote screen-sharing session to bring museum professionals up to speed in the basic features of TMS. We’ll guide you across the learning curve as you pick up valuable tips and all the fundamentals you need to start using TMS effectively at your organization.

Audience
This training is intended for new users, as well as existing users who wish to brush up on their TMS knowledge.

Prerequisites
None. TMS Tuesday is designed for users with very little or no TMS experience.

Course Objectives
This six-hour course covers essential TMS functions, especially those related to Objects, Media, and Constituents. After this session, users will possess a good working knowledge of TMS and should feel confident creating object records, linking constituents, creating packages, and managing location moves in the application.

TMS Collections Thursday: Onboarding and Refresher Training

Description
Has your institution recently transitioned to TMS Collections, or are you considering doing so? TMS Collections Thursday is a 1-day introductory course to get you started with using TMS Collections. This remote screen-sharing session will bring museum professionals up to speed in the basic features of TMS Collections.

Through the use of a demo database, you’ll gain hands-on experience with TMS Collections, including searching, viewing, and entering data. You will also gain an introduction to using the Composer to modify and build custom data entry screens.

Audience
This training is intended for new users, as well as existing users who wish to brush up on their TMS Collections knowledge.

Prerequisites
None. TMS Collections Thursday is designed for users with very little or no TMS Collections experience. Trainees should be affiliated with an institution that uses TMS Collections, or will soon transition to using it.

Course Objectives
This six-hour course covers essential TMS Collections functions, especially those related to the Objects module. After this session, users will possess a good working knowledge of TMS Collections and should feel confident searching and navigating within the application, entering data, and using Composer to modify data entry views.

Description
This intensive three-day course introduces new users to the basic functionality of TMS. The focus is on cataloguing objects; tracking exhibition, loan, and shipping activities; linking media to records; searching the database; reporting on and exporting data, and more. This is a hands-on class; participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
The TMS Core Application Training workshop is appropriate for all TMS users: registrars, curators, educators, archivists, support staff, and all who use TMS on a regular basis.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the student has little or no familiarity with TMS. However, experienced TMS users who wish to expand their understanding or learn additional functionality will also benefit from participating in this hands-on workshop.

Course Objectives
Provide a comprehensive introduction to TMS functionality and techniques. Cover new features included in the latest versions of TMS.

Crystal Reports

September 24 to 25, 2020
November 19 to 20, 2020

Description
This two-day, beginner/intermediate level course covers the core functionality of Crystal Reports and its use as a reporting tool in conjunction with TMS and its web applications. Users will learn to use Gallery Systems software data structure as a basis for designing custom reports.

Audience
This course is typically attended by those responsible for creating custom reports for TMS users, as well as advanced TMS users who wish to design their own custom reports.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user is already familiar with basic TMS and web application functionality, either through daily use or by having completed TMS Core training.

Course Objectives
Provide a comprehensive introduction to Crystal Reports functionality. Enable the user to produce custom reports to use with the TMS Suite.

TMS Advanced Application

SQL for TMS Users

Description
Structured Query Language (SQL) is the query workhorse behind every TMS search, and can be used to manage data at the database level. This 1-day course is an all-in-one guide to becoming proficient in SQL and learning the basic functions that will speed up your TMS work. This is a hands-on class; participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Get the most from your SQL for TMS Users course and save on traveling by also signing up for the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Report Design class, held on the following day.

Audience
The 1-day SQL for TMS Users course is recommended for Registrars, TMS database managers, TMS database administrators, and all users who use advanced search features.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user has little to no SQL experience. However, experienced SQL users who wish to expand their understanding or learn additional functionality will also benefit from taking part in this workshop.

Course Objectives
Give the user a working understanding of SQL and the ability to create simple queries, build on queries, and navigate the TMS database.

SSRS Report Design

Description
This intensive 1-day course introduces users to the new reporting options included in the latest release of TMS and its web applications. The focus will be on learning the fundamentals of using SQL Server Reporting Services with TMS. This is a hands-on course and participants will be provided with their own fully configured workstation during training.

Get the most from your SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Report Design course and save on traveling by also signing up for the SQL for TMS Users class, held on the previous day.

Audience
The Report Design with SSRS workshop is recommended for TMS database administrators and other users with a general understanding of the MS SQL Server platform.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user has a working knowledge of the TMS database from daily use, and knows the MS SQL server platform.

Course Objectives
Provide basic understanding of SSRS reporting features. Ensure users leave the course understanding how to configure SSRS reports for use with the TMS Suite, and understand SSRS report templates and basic functionalities of the reporting service.

Description
This hands-on workshop teaches users how to “customize” the multiple standard TMS configuration features available. This course focuses on configuring search fields, editing field labels and field-specific Help, changing query groups, and related issues. Participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
The TMS Configuration workshop is recommended for TMS database administrators and other staff members responsible for configuration.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user is already familiar with basic TMS functionality, either through daily use or by having completed the 3-day TMS Core training.

Course Objectives
Provide a broad familiarity with TMS Configuration features, including how to set basic TMS Configurations, customize the fields available in the Query Assistant, and how to change the Listview default settings.

TMS Security

Description
This course demonstrates the TMS security restrictions that control user access to modules, tables, fields, and functions. The TMS Security training covers the intricacies of configuring security groups and setting overall and department-level security to user accounts. In addition to showing you the mechanics of Security Configuration, this workshop will give pointers for developing an overall plan for the security levels required for your institution’s TMS implementation. Users will be provided their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
The TMS Security workshop is recommended for TMS database managers and TMS database administrators.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user is already familiar with moderate level TMS functionality, most likely through daily use.

Course Objectives
Provide practical knowledge of the TMS security functions and restrictions. Focus on how to create and modify Security Groups, how to modify functional security settings, how to assign users to security groups, and how to assign security to Crystal Reports.

TMS Barcode Manager

Description
This half-day course offers an introduction to TMS Barcode Manager, a productivity enhancing add-on that integrates the convenience of barcode scanning into your location and inventory workflows in TMS. Learn how to scan, track, and update object and component data easily with Barcode Manager.

Audience
The TMS Barcode Manager workshop is recommended for Registrars, Collection Managers, TMS database administrators, and all users who manage location, tracking, and movement activities within TMS.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user is already familiar with basic TMS functionality, either through daily use of TMS or by having completed the three-day TMS Core training.

Course Objectives
Provide users with an understanding of how to scan, import, and report on barcode related data in TMS using TMS Barcode Manager and the barcode reader of their choice.
