Description
Do you have new staff who need TMS training, or existing team members who could use a review of basic TMS features? Let the expert trainers at Gallery Systems handle your TMS onboarding and refresher training. On one Tuesday each month, our trainers lead a day-long, remote screen-sharing session to bring your selected staff members up to speed in the basic features of TMS. We’ll guide you across the learning curve as you pick up valuable tips and all the fundamentals you need to start using TMS effectively at your organization.

Audience
This training is intended for new users, as well as existing users who wish to brush up on their TMS knowledge.

None. This course is targeted to users with no TMS experience

Course Objectives
This six-hour course will cover essential TMS functions, especially those related to Objects, Media, and Constituents. After this session, users will possess a good working knowledge of TMS and should feel confident creating object records, linking constituents, creating packages, and managing location moves in the application.

Description
This intensive three-day course introduces new users to the basic functionality of TMS. The focus is on cataloguing objects; tracking exhibition, loan, and shipping activities; linking media to records; searching the database; reporting on and exporting data, and more. This is a hands-on class; participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
This course is appropriate for all TMS users: registrars, curators, educators, archivists, support staff, and all who use TMS on a regular basis.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the student has little or no familiarity with TMS; however, experienced TMS users who wish to expand their understanding or learn additional functionality will also benefit.

Course Objectives
Provide a comprehensive introduction to TMS functionality and techniques. This class covers all new features in TMS 2012, 2014 and 2016.

Crystal Reports

Description
This two-day, beginner/intermediate level course covers the core functionality of Crystal Reports and its use as a reporting tool in conjunction with TMS. Students will learn to use the TMS data structure as a basis for designing custom reports for objects, exhibitions, loans, and constituents data.

Audience
This course is typically attended by those responsible for creating custom reports for TMS users. This can include advanced TMS users who wish to design their own custom reports.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the student is already familiar with basic TMS functionality, either through daily use of TMS or by having completed the three-day Core TMS training course.

Course Objectives
Provide a comprehensive introduction to Crystal Reports functionality, enabling the student to produce custom reports for use with TMS.

This half-day course offers an introduction to TMS Barcode Manager, a productivity enhancing add-on that integrates the convenience of barcode scanning into your location and inventory workflows in TMS. Learn how to scan, track, and update object and component data easily with Barcode Manager.

Audience
This course is recommended for Registrars, Collection Managers, TMS database administrators, and all users who manage location, tracking, and movement activities within TMS.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the student is already familiar with basic TMS functionality, either through daily use of TMS or by having completed the three-day Core TMS training course.

Course Objectives
Students will leave this course with an understanding of how to scan, import, and report on barcode related data in TMS using TMS Barcode Manager and the barcode reader of their choice.

SSRS Report Design

Description
This intensive one-day course introduces users to the new reporting options included in the latest release of TMS. The focus will be on learning the fundamentals of using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) with TMS. This is a hands-on course and participants will be provided with their own fully configured workstation during training.

Audience
This course is recommended for TMS database administrators and others with a general understanding of the MS SQL Server platform.

Prerequisites
This course assumes users have a working knowledge of the TMS database from daily use, and know the MS SQL server platform.

Course Objectives
Students will leave the course with an understanding of how to configure the SSRS reports for use with TMS, an understanding of the SSRS report templates, the ability to use the SSRS Report Wizard and Report Designer, and an understanding of how to use the filter, group and sort functions.

This hands-on workshop teaches users how to customize the multiple standard TMS configuration features available. This course focuses on configuring search fields, editing field labels and field-specific Help, changing query groups, and related issues. Participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
This course is recommended for TMS database administrators or other staff responsible for configuration.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the student is already familiar with basic TMS functionality, either through daily use of TMS or by having completed the three-day Core TMS training course.

Course Objectives
This course seeks to provide a broad familiarity with TMS Configuration features, including how to set basic TMS Configurations, customize the fields available in the Query Assistant, and how to change the Listview default settings.

TMS Security

Description
This course demonstrates the TMS security restrictions that control user access to modules, tables, fields, and functions. The TMS Security training will cover the intricacies of configuring security groups, overall settings, and department-level security to user accounts. In addition to covering the mechanics of Security Configuration, this workshop will give pointers for developing an overall plan for the security levels required for your institution’s TMS implementation. Users will be provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Audience
This course is recommended for Curators, Registrars, TMS database managers, and TMS database administrators.

Prerequisites
This course assumes the user is already familiar with moderate level TMS functionality, most likely through daily use.

Course Objectives
This course seeks to provide a practical knowledge of the TMS security functions and restrictions, and will focus on how to create and modify Security Groups, how to modify functional security settings, how to assign users to security groups, and how to assign security to Crystal Reports.

SQL for TMS Users

Description
Structured Query Language (SQL) is the query workhorse behind every TMS search, and can be used to manage data at the database level. This 1-day course is an all-in-one guide to becoming proficient in SQL and learning the basic functions that will speed up your TMS work. This is a hands-on class; participants are provided with their own fully configured workstation to use during training.

Note that this course uses SQL Server. Oracle databases may differ.

Audience
This one-day course is recommended for Registrars, TMS database managers, and TMS database administrators, and all users who are using advanced search features.

Prerequisites
This course assumes users have little to no SQL experience; however, experienced SQL users who wish to expand their understanding or learn additional functionality will also benefit.

Course Objectives
This course seeks to give the user a working understanding of SQL and creating simple queries, building on queries, and navigating the TMS database.
