System Requirements

TMS Collections is a web-based application, which means you use it over the internet in a web browser. You can host TMS Collections on your own servers, or you can have Gallery Systems handle the IT requirements with our dedicated Managed Hosting team.

Managed Hosting with Gallery Systems

We offer hosting options for all our browser-based products including TMS Collections. When you choose managed hosting, you don’t have to install anything, download any software, or worry about upgrades. With hosting, we take care of the IT for your organization so you can concentrate on what you do best: managing the collection.

When you choose to host with Gallery Systems, your data is stored on secure, enterprise-class servers, backed up continually, in a state-of-the-art, highly-secure data center.

Benefits of Managed Hosting

No Hardware Costs

When you host with Gallery Systems, you don’t have to install software or databases on your own network. This means you don’t have to purchase or manage any server infrastructure, or worry about its on-going maintenance. Because you don’t have to invest in purchasing servers or hardware, you can realize significant cost savings for your institution.

Automatic Updates

Unlike a traditional software installation that requires you to download and install updates yourself, with managed hosting your applications are updated automatically. Upgrades are free of charge and managed by Gallery Systems. With hosting, you’re always using the latest, most secure and feature-rich version.

Automatic Backups

Your data is automatically backed up, and your backups are stored across multiple secure locations for additional redundancy. The database server is mirrored and protected against hardware problems. We’ve never lost any client’s data and we won’t lose yours.

Secure Access

Our software and infrastructure is updated with the latest security patches. The traffic on our network flows behind an enterprise-class firewall to keep your data safe. We continuously monitor database health, and perform all other system administration duties so you can concentrate on collections management.

Own Your Data

Your collections data is a valuable asset, and Gallery Systems works to protect your collections management investment. Your data always belongs to you and is accessible only by you and your staff. We can send you periodic backup files for archival purposes, and we’ll work with your organization to ensure your rules for connectivity and security are rigorously followed.

What You Need to Use Web Applications

  • A good Internet connection (broadband or better)
  • A computer running Windows 7 or later, or Apple Mac OS

Hosting at Your Location

TMS Collections requires considerably more server resources than EmbARK, depending in part on the size of your database, number of media files, and number of users. At least one dedicated web server and a separate dedicated SQL Server will be required.

It’s critical for the success of the project that adequate server resources are budgeted for and provided. Please consult with Gallery Systems to determine your requirements.
